Cirrus Primary Academy Trust has been awarded the Trust Value Award by Edurio and has achieved the enviable position of being in the top ten multi academy trusts in England.
This award recognises excellence in creating environments where staff feel confident in the value of being part of the trust. The CEO of Endurio states, 'The achievement highlights the importance of a supportive community where staff feel appreciated and aligned with the trust's mission.'
School Games
The gold games mark award recognises Rushy Meadow’s commitment to inspiring every child in our school to be active. The mark is awarded to schools who provide comprehensive opportunities for children to try different sport and enter a variety of competitions and events.
The Humphrey Richardson Taylor Charitable Trust
The Humphrey Richardson Taylor Charitable Trust has generously supported music provision at Rushy Meadow for a number of years. This has had a significant impact on the quality of music lessons, interest in music and access to a variety of musical instruments. The Trust makes grants to state schools by part-funding musical instruments, musical equipment, musical tuition and music-related capital projects.
School Mental Health Award
Rushy Meadow achieved a Bronze Award in the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools School Mental Health Award. This award recognises the ongoing work the school is doing to develop our mental health and wellbeing strategies, structures and practices. Positive practices include listening to both pupil and staff voice, addressing their concerns and valuing their thoughts, a commitment to staff training, emphasising the importance of work/life balance for staff and developing a strong moral code through our Be Values: Be Kind, Be Respectful, Be Polite, Be Honest and Be Responsible.
Judicium School Safety Award
Rushy Meadow were awarded the Judicium School Safety Award for attaining high standards of safety management in the workplace and learning environment.
STARS TfL Community Project
To achieve Bronze Level Accreditation in the TFL Travel for Life Programme, Rushy Meadow has a travel plan in place with a range of activities that help the whole school community adopt safer and more active travel behaviour.
Sutton Music Hub
The silver provision awarded by Sutton Music Trust recognises the strength of Rushy Meadow’s Music and Performance provision. The silver provision is awarded to schools who differentiate learning to challenge all abilities, ensure pupils can talk confidently about their learning using music vocabulary, provide regular extra-curricular vocal, instrumental and/or music technology-based opportunities and who provide musical opportunities for pupils, both in and out of school.
Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM) Inclusive School
Rushy Meadow has been awarded Inclusion Quality Mark Centre of Excellence status in recognition of its deeply embedded culture of inclusion. The assessor praised the school’s aspirational ethos, inclusive curriculum, and trauma-informed practices that ensure every pupil feels safe, valued and supported. The award highlights the school’s strong leadership, inclusive teaching, and commitment to equity for all learners, particularly those with additional needs.
Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM)
Rushy Meadow has achieved the Primary Science Quality Mark for its commitment to delivering high-quality, engaging, and inclusive science education. The award recognises the school’s strong subject leadership, inclusive curriculum design, and the way science teaching promotes curiosity, independence and confidence. Pupils’ voices and love for science shine through, with increased opportunities for investigation, questioning and hands-on learning both inside and outside the classroom.
Silver Primary Geography Quality Mark
Rushy Meadow has been awarded the Silver Primary Geography Quality Mark in recognition of its ambitious and well-planned geography curriculum. The award celebrates the way pupils are supported to think like geographers through enquiry, reasoning and critical thinking. Inspectors praised the wide range of opportunities for fieldwork, from Reception’s treasure maps to Year 6’s global comparisons, and the way mapping skills are developed progressively across the school. Real-world learning experiences, such as visits to ecology centres, reservoirs, gardens and local studies, help pupils make meaningful connections between their learning and the world around them. The report highlights the school’s inclusive approach, ensuring all pupils reach the same high expectations, while developing their understanding of place, space and environment at local, national and global scales.
